Recruitment of Post-doc Fellow (Bioinformatics on Next generation sequencing) at the State Key Laboratory of Quality Research in Chinese Medicine (Macau University of Science and Technology)


Job Description
We are seeking a talented bioinformatician to join the State Key Laboratory of Quality Research in Chinese Medicine (
http://www.must.edu.mo/skl-tw), at the Macau University of Science and Technology, to conduct bioinformatics analysis on the whole genome sequencing, RNA sequencing, RNA isoform sequencing and de novo sequencing and metagenomics data using the illumina and the Pacific Bioscience sequencing platforms. Both human and herbal samples will be involved in the research projects. 

Qualifications and Experience
Applicants should have a degree in a biological or computer science, and proven professional programming experience. Advanced knowledge of at least one modern programming language is required. Knowledge of the following would be highly desirable: Drupal, Git, Linux, software testing, and Ensembl. A background is research science is not required but a working knowledge of, or strong personal interest in, molecular biology and genomics is essential.

Maintaining communication with several collaborating teams is an important aspect of the role. Good communication and interpersonal skills are therefore essential. A flexible mind-set, a capacity for independent work, and a commitment to the delivery of a high-quality public service, are all required. 


Salary Benefits 
The initial contract is for a period of two years with the possibility of a fixed-term extension. The monthly salary is MOP 22000-26000/month, annual leave and health insurance will be provided.
